  • Access to emergency accommodation;
  • Relevant charitable services;
  • Mental health and wellbeing services;
  • Financial assistance;
  • Personal and financial counselling;
  • Insurance and legal advice; and
  • Replacing lost ID.

Support for Individuals

Residents may be eligible for the Commonwealth Government’s Disaster Recovery Payment, a one-off, non-means tests payment of $1,000 for adults and $400 for children who have been seriously injured, lost their homes or whose homes have been directly damaged, or the immediate family members of a person who has lost their life, as a direct result of the storms and floods.

The Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA) is an ongoing payment for a maximum of 13 weeks. This is up to $677 per fortnight, depending on your personal circumstances. Click here to claim the Disaster Recovery Allowance.

Disaster Relief Grants are available through Resilience NSW. This can cover emergency food, clothing and accommodation, repair or replacement of essential furniture and personal effects, and essential repairs to housing to a habitable condition. To apply for this, phone 13 77 88 and ask for the Disaster Relief Grant administered by Resilience NSW.

Small Business, Primary Production and Not-for-profit Organisation Support

Grants for small businesses & not-for-profits  - the NSW and Australian governments will be offering financial support to businesses and not-for-profit organisations impacted by the NSW storms and floods. Register your interest online

Grants for primary producers - available to cover costs including repairing damaged fencing and equipment, replacing livestock, salvaging crops and restoring fields. This will be available through the Rural Assistance Authority, call 1800 678 593 or apply online
